Saying that you have an “open door policy” is not good enough for an effective leader. Setting the conditions for a positive environment that encourages open, frank, thoughtful dialogue is needed for a healthy organization in today’s complex world. This takes a unique combination of caring, communication, emotional intelligence, and strategy.
